Colorado Comfort Cuisine Restaurant Since 2016
It all began with an idea to elevate comfort food in a love letter to our home in Boulder. Our restaurant’s vibe is a nod to those favorite family recipes, dutifully handed down to the next generation. Even the name River and Woods—borrowed from the classic poem “Thanksgiving Day” by Lydia Marie Child—is rooted in tradition and comfort.
River and Woods has the good fortune of being situated in an
original miner’s cabin that was previously home to John’s restaurant,
Boulder’s first fine dining establishment and an institution for 40 years.
We live in and love this town. We believe in the power of community, and everything we do - from the food we source to the way we welcome those who walk through our door - is meant to evoke connection.
Our magic word is “whimsy”, and whether you’re sitting at our little bar under
century old beams or walking through the kitchen to enjoy a meal in our
backyard outpost, we hope you’ll feel a bit of that magic while you’re with us.
We’re so grateful to be here!
Love, The Dinar Family
