Team River and Woods

At River and Woods, we believe that the heart of our restaurant lies in the dedication and passion of our team. From the welcoming faces at the front of the house to the talented chefs behind the scenes, each member of our staff plays a vital role in creating the unforgettable experience we pride ourselves on.

To help you get to know us better, we're pleased to introduce our leadership team, whose commitment to excellence shapes the River and Woods experience.

Maddie Curry
General Manager/Partner

Maddie began her hospitality career at River and Woods in 2020, joining the team during the Covid-19 pandemic. Drawing from her southern roots, Maddie brought a natural talent for hospitality and leadership, coupled with bravery, and a mischievous flare that has propelled her through the ranks. Maddie may just be the youngest seasoned pro you’ve ever encountered. In many ways, she’s become the smiling face of River and Woods. She’s built and trained a front-of-house team that’s every bit as friendly and professional as she. And in overseeing the restaurant’s beverage program, she mixes the meanest cocktail in town. Maddie became a River and Woods partner in 2024!

Russ Fox
Executive Chef

Russ joined River and Woods in 2025, bringing his passion for farm-to-table dining and a deep respect for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. His culinary journey began in New York City, where he studied at the Natural Gourmet Institute, specializing in vegetarian and vegan cuisine. He then honed his skills in some of the NYC’s finest farm-to-table restaurants. In 2016, Russ moved to Colorado and built strong relationships with local farmers and ranchers while working with the beast + bottle group in Denver. Russ also launched Sweet Moon, a pop-up dedicated to his love for maple syrups and pancakes. Russ is excited to share stories, honor traditions, and strengthen the Boulder community through the food at River and Woods!

Kate Dinar
Co-Owner
Event Coordinator

Kate became a local business owner with the opening of River and Woods in 2016. After working at a locally-based technology firm for 16 years, Kate felt passionate about creating a business that reflected the values that motivated her and husband, Josh, to put down roots and raise a family in Boulder. Kate’s focuses include interior design, team culture and management, marketing, and event coordination. Kate, originally from Maryland, has lived in Boulder since 1997 and is happy to say she’s had a hand in raising two proud Boulderites.

River and Woods is the culmination of his experience and passions, an expression of the joy and inspiration that comes from gathering at the table to share real, thoughtfully prepared food.
